The Company

Saltees Fish are family run fish wholesalers in Kilmore Quay, Wexford; in the South East of Ireland who have expanded considerably over the years exporting now to Spain, France, Belgium, Holland and Italy.  Saltees Fish wanted a system which was designed specifically for the Fish and Seafood Processing Industry but wanted it also to be customisable to match their own processes.

 

The Challenge

  • To replace a legacy bespoke system that was no longer supported
  • To deliver a modern food processing software solution, fit for purpose at Saltees but must also be used by other food processors to ensure the products continue to grow and improve

  • To maintain the “good bits” of the existing system which had been honed over many years

The Outcome

Saltees Fish chose the NOUVEM food processing software to replace their existing system.  NOUVEM had a lot to live up to as the existing system worked very well for Saltees Fish and the system was tuned specifically for Saltees Fish over many years.  Shortly after beginning the implementation it became apparent that the standard NOUVEM Sales Order Processing was missing features specifically required for large scale fish wholesalers.  The missing features were not discovered during the sales process which is not unusual as its only following initial installation that the different departments really get to put the new software through its paces.  Presented with this challenge, new features were agreed with Saltees Fish and NOUVEM engineers set to work.  The Saltees Fish project team were a pleasure to work with.  They were fully engaged with the project and each department worked very hard putting multiple orders through NOUVEM during the testing phase.  Towards the end of the implementation phase, project manager Sian commented “I am actually going to miss this – it’s very satisfying work”  Saltees Fish then went on to become the first NOUVEM customer to go live without having anyone on site from NOUVEM during the implementation phase or during the go live changeover itself.  Saltees Fish continue to be a pleasure to work with and we look forward to playing our little part in the continued success of Saltees Fish.
